I was born in Salida, Colorado known as the heart of the Rockies. My ancestors are from Spain. They came in the expedition north and settled in the valley of Espanola, the first settlers in the New Mexico region which was known as Mexico at the time, and about three hundred years later they migrated north to Colorado.

As an artist of my age and life long experience I see things in a different view. Although my inspiration to create is in every day life, the joy and struggles of humanity have the tenancy to leave an influence in my work without intent, none the less it is there. So with that thought in my mind there is never a bad critique.

I try to look at things with an open mind knowing everyone has their own opinion or interpretation. The artist, the writer or the painter speaks with their own voice and in their own point of view. Sometimes the subject has some symbolism that evokes dialogue and I think that is a catalyst for us to evolve in our humanity.

I think art is window to he past and also a look into the future. Art can be expressed without boundaries, it can evoke emotions to touch the heart or even stimulate the mind. You don’t need to see it, you can touch it, feel it, and hear it. Art is to he expressed in more ways than one. It can be inspiration that is pulled from a rock to reveal its true beauty or it can be the warm emotions expressed by the colors and shapes by all the elements of Mother Nature.

I have studied with Zelda Bills, Earl Jones and Dr. Homer Clark.
