Her stoneware pottery evolves from the spirited imagery painted and pecked into the rock walls and boulders in the desert canyons of Southern Utah. Suzanne brings a modern sensibility to these ancient designs created by Native American Indians over 600-2000 years ago. After drying the unfired pottery is decorated with a brush and colored terra sigillatas - supremely fine slips of clay. The black and white glazed pieces are dipped in white glaze, the design brushed on in wax and black glaze brushed over the top. All of her stoneware pottery is then fired high to 2140 degrees Fahrenheit making it durable and dishwasher safe. No lead is used. Most pieces are fitted with hangers for wall display when not in use.
