Dana Sohm's years of shooting landscapes combined with architecture during the 2002 Olympics when his landscapes became cityscapes ornamented by rings, cauldrons, and building-sized murals.

Today Sohm preserves his artistic eye not only by producing large fine-art prints but also by self-publishing photographic notecards of his own images. His notecards feature widely diverse subject matter including sweeping landscapes of Utah's red rock country, glacier-clad Mt. Rainier, Heceta Head lighthouse, ancient California Redwood forests, Seattle's Space needle, and close-ups of exotic orchids. Sohm Photografx notecards are currently sold in four western states.

Sohm's photographs of the new Salt Lake Public library, sold as notecards in the Library Store, caught the eye o the architecture firm that designed the building. This led to a second career of photographing newly constructed buildings for architects, builders, and lighting design engineers. Drawing from his nature work and his delight in good design, Sohm delights in abstracting architectural subjects into basic visual elements of line, shape, color and texture, revealing an artistic "essence" that is readily visible yet often overlooked.

Most recently, Sohm's efforts have turned to the botanical world. His highly distilled botanicals reveal flowers and leaves as abstract art.
