Kelly L. Holtman is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Westminster College in Salt Lake in 1992.

Kelly began painting with watercolor in 1997 and now paints with not only watercolor by acrylic and various pastels. He painting style varies depending upon the medium and subject.

Holtman employs a dry brush technique with watercolor to achieve realistic floral paintings and unusual images, such as those in her "Jungle Series." For her watercolor landscapes she uses a wet-into-wet technique in order to achieve a serene atmospheric image. Working with acrylic Holtman paints landscapes that posses a "painterly quality" and her abstract paintings express a wide range of emotion. Her pastel paintings include landscapes and animals created using a layering technique.

Holtman is currently the Vice-President of the Utah Watercolor Society. She has exhibited in many of the UWS shows and various other exhibitions around the country. She has participated in the annual CNS "Art & Soup" fund raiser for several years. She has also donated paintings for auction to CNS, the Huntsman Cancer Research Institute, Hogle Zoo and Arc of Hope.
