Since the early years of his life Craig Haaser has had his "hands in clay." Most third graders like to mess in the mud, but Craig sculpted his life's path when he created a modest pot from his messy mound of clay. Craig discovered that he could borrow the elements of the earth that he enjoyed on mountain excursions with his family and celebrate the natural beauty of his native Utah in the form of pottery.

Inspired by nature Craig sought the knowledge needed to achieve his artistic dream. He earned his B.A. in Art from Weber State University and his M.A. in Ceramic Art from Utah State University. He then shared his knowledge with aspiring artists in the Utah school system for 12 years.

Today he works full-time in his Studio creating pots and free-form clay expressions that mirror his love for Utah's scenery. Whether he accents a "critter pot" with well critters or embeds a leaf into one of his decorative plates. Craig shares with his buyers his respect for nature's harmony and generosity. It is a love that he now passes to his young son Christopher. No matter what climate the seasons bring, Craig can be found exploring the mountains of his youth. Then he incorporates his visions of nature into art back at his studio. It should be no surprise that as he throws pots and applies vibrant glazes his son sits nearby with his little hands in clay.
