Since my early childhood I have had the ability to take a piece of clay and create a life-like figure. As a young child I spent most of my time playing with plastilina (clay) or carving bars of soap. It was my early training to express what I felt through my hands, I created images.

I looked around my pueblo (town) of Bachiniva, Chihuahua and was fascinated by the everyday scenarios farm workers in the fields, women washing on the river and kids playing on the streets. Around these scenes revolved my childhood, and for seventeen years they filled my life with joy and melancholy.

Storytelling is an intricate part of growing up in mi familia. My grandfather told me stories of meeting Pancho Villa during the Mexican Revolution and shaking his hand. My mother told me the great tales of ancient civilizations the Mayan and the Aztecs, stories of gods like Hitchilopotchil and warriors like Cuauhtémoc. About ancient people that left their heritage and history in my own town paintings and carvings on caverns walls. History, family and the love of my people is my inspiration, I want to share the triumphs and struggles, of my country.

My art is the testament of my life, the journey of culture, love for my family and our traditions . . living in my heart and hands.
