Penny Bohn was born in 1967 and was raised in rural Roswell, New Mexico, the youngest of six children. Her mother was a professional craftsman and was the source of inspiration that fueled Penny’s desire to become an artist.

Through trial and error during the course of her youth, Penny was self-taught portrait, still-life and figurative art. Those techniques were further developed during her Studies of the Arts at University of New Mexico.
In her early twenties, Penny moved to Santa Barbara, California, and became a wife and a mother of three boys. She started a successful mural business in Santa Barbara, California. Today, her murals can be found on the walls of businesses, homes and churches throughout the country.

At 25 years of age, Penny became a breast cancer survivor. Having survived cancer for the past twelve years has given her a retrospective approach to the world around her; one that is reflected in her work. Her paintings translate not what she sees, but what she feels when viewing the world; a world which she considers to be a gift.

Penny Bohn now resides in Bountiful, Utah, with her family.
